Science in the Alps: ISUD 2026 in Les Houches
Ubertone was incredibly proud to sponsor the 15th International Symposium on Ultrasonic Doppler Methods in Fluid Mechanics (ISUD 2026). This event remains an absolute cornerstone for everyone working with UVP, ADVP, ADCP, ACVP, and cutting-edge ultrasound flow measurement technologies.
From May 3-7, 2026, participants had the unique privilege of staying at the legendary École de Physique des Houches. Sleeping in the very cottages that once hosted scientific giants like Enrico Fermi and Stephen Hawking created a truly inspiring atmosphere.

The venue proved to be the perfect catalyst for informal networking and vibrant discussions—whether during a scenic walk, over a game of ping-pong, or right from the breakfast table!
Marie Burckbuchler presented the latest breakthroughs from her PhD thesis, focusing on uncertainties in high-resolution Acoustic Doppler Velocimetry Profiling (ADVP) and directivity-induced parallax bias.
Paper Title: Investigation of uncertainty from parallax bias in high-resolving Acoustic Doppler Velocimetry Profiling - Marie Burckbuchler, Stéphane Fischer, Markus Noack, Nils Rüther.
At the Ubertone booth, attendees gathered around our live setup featuring the UB-Lab P UVP, the UB-Lab 3C ADVP, and a microbubble generator, sparking fantastic technical exchanges.
This year marked the 30th anniversary of ISUD—a beautiful milestone we were proud to celebrate together!
As with every edition, the Ubertone Student Award served as a wonderful catalyst for students to showcase their work. (Discover the winners in our dedicated post!)
To close the symposium on a high note, Ubertone sponsored a memorable field trip under a radiant sun. Participants journeyed down the mountain to visit a hydropower station, enjoyed a lovely lunch on the shores of Lake Léman, and concluded the day with a majestic steam boat cruise across the lake to Lausanne.
The destination for the next ISUD edition has been officially revealed... Hanoi, Vietnam! Stay tuned for more details.
